This is an oldish tute, I wrote it during Uni but the principles still work perfectly. I thought I'd repost it 'cos it talks all about environment score and what goes into it, and I know you guys have been talking about that a little.
I'm actually happy to have it back up again.. My supereasy arch tute needs to go up again too, but I'll leave that for another day. The damn thing has about 45 images..

Anna the main thing is as long as it helps and gives you useful ideas..
Keep in mind as well, I'm a bit obsessively analytical and examined what went into Starters in obsessive detail and over several months.. So it doesn't make anyone not good at them or any approach any worse than mine, it just helps to know some playability tips because the info is often missing out there.
It was funny, when I wrote this I figured people were gonna go "Oh, is that all she does, how dissapointing!" It was also back in the days where people were doing these enormous lots with lots of floor elevation tricks and I think I was a bit out of step with the times.. it was a shock to some people that was the stuff that worked.
I think it's hard to take in that your Sim would be happy with an orange carpet with a purple wall if they were both 10 simoleans.. You'd hate it because it was ugly but they'd be happy because the maths was right.
I just thank heavens Violet Kitty chewed my ear off about this stuff.. It's a lot of her wisdom in this tute too, just presented in a builder rather than a player format.
Cheers

I remember when I first started doing challenges that were specifically for starters. They used to say no one wanted to download starters and all their work was for nothing. Personally I rather smaller lots. The bigger ones are nice to look at but not playable. I spend ( or used to lol ) alot of time playing and one point didnt build at all other then as I moved a sim on a lot and built what they needed. I was amazed that people built and never played the game lol still am actually.
