| So, freshly arrived home from and overnight trip to Kingsport, TN. 41 participants at Borden Park in downtown K-port this morning. Friend Tim Barr served as TD. Park is very small, layout slightly confusing as several baskets are within sight of one another, and it is relatively open. Good round would be in 40s for sure. Think Peaks View with less trees and elevation changes. Anyways, took first in AM with a 44. Tim won Pro with a 41 I believe. Both Dad and Grandad played, and a good time was had by all. Came home with a trophy, now christened Wobblin' Willy. Hung out with the fam for awhile, downloaded directions to the course at Emory and Henry just south of Marion. Now hear this, the PDGA directions to this course are so f'ed up you will never get there if you don't ask me how. Truly awful directions. But, when we did find it, course turned out to be a bit of fun. It shares a couple of fairways with a ball golf course, which could be trouble, but I had not issues. Very woody woode holes, very pretty open holes. Luckily, pops and I ran into a local, Tom Peterson (no relation) who was kind enough to join us. Nice course, that appeared to be a bit rough around the edges, but well maintained at the present. Tom advised that it is not always mowed so nicely. That being said, I shot a respectable 2 under, and would go back. New discs worked well. The Element X is a new fave, very stable all the time. Cro, excellent, long mid range with a bit less fade than the EX. The Rock-it has been relegated to an upshot disc, and is deadly for backhands inside 150 feet with low ceilings. See you all monday evening. KP |
