Possibly the dumbest question ever....
So I'm about ready to book my Caddy in for it's 90,000k service. This morning, when I turned the ignition key to the 'on' position, a spanner with 1600 written next to it appeared. What does this mean?
When I bought the car the salesman said that a spanner will appear when the car needs service, but this has never happened until now. Is it advising me of a regular service, or is the 1600 an error code?
Cheers! _________________ ---------------------------------------------

***UPADTE***
When I started the car at lunch time (no driving in between) the dash now shows the spanner with 1500 next to it, instead of 1600 as it was this morning... _________________ ---------------------------------------------

Hey mate... I quite a few miles behind, but a guess could be a countdown km counter meaning get the car serviced before this many kays. Could be important as I think its time for the timing belt....
Again just a guess... |

Strange one... It's booked in for service next week, so I'll ask about it. Just strange that I've never seen it before... _________________ ---------------------------------------------

Yeah, It's actually back on as another service is imminent... Never appeared until after it got serviced at Highway Auto, so stupid Rocklea Truck Centre must not have been resetting the function. Not surprised they are no longer VW dealers... _________________ ---------------------------------------------

You know they ditched us because Campbell Newman's MAN bus orders were too great for them, so they just dumped VW as it was easy to offload and didn't affect their core business (buses and trucks) and gave them back a bay or two in the workshop |
