Walk to Defeat ALS - Oct 23, Baton Rouge

My father had it and a friends mother had it. There is a walk near LSU with registration at 9 am and the walk starting at 10 am and it is a 3 mile walk. I have spoken to the local contact and she said she would love for us to come out if we are interested. If you would be interested in coming out and participate, let me know and we can see how many we might can get. Here is her responce to my email: Quote: Hi Brady, I apologize for the delay in responding to your email. The chapter will be hosting its annual Walk to Defeat ALS on Saturday, October 23rd at the LSU Vet School. I'm very sorry to hear that your father passed away from ALS. Getting involve with the chapter is a wonderful way to honor him and your friend's mother. We would certainly love to have the 501st come out and support our families. Registration starts at 9AM and the walk starts at 10AM. There will be plenty of fun, music, and food so I invite you to join us. If you would like to register the 501st as walkers, please visit www.walktodefeatals.org and it literally takes a few minutes to register. You will have access to your team and personal page and can upload your own pictures and edit the content. If there is someone else that I need to contact, please let me know and I will do so. Ive asked the forum weblords over at RSR (Wayne and Tommy) to update thier calendar and also fix the calendar here that has the wrong date on it. we just need to split forces for the day is all.

If it were another day, I would love to do the ALS walk. A guy I dated in high school lost his father to ALS, so I'm familiar with the pain this disease brings on the patient and the family. I wish there was a way I could participate, but costume fan day is too big of an event for me to try to do two things on that day.
