Just wondered if a few of you guys would care to give us the exact steps you take in order to adjust your scope for a shot in FT?
Let's assume you've gotten into shooting position, and are preparing to look through your scope at the target for the first time.
Include all specifics if possible, including what you do to rangefind, focus, adjust parallax, correct elevation etc, etc.

When I sit down to range and shoot a target, the range finding, focus, and parallax, are the same proceedure as they are combined. When you use an AO, either front or side, you are adjusting the parallax, focus, and if you have a decent scope, it will give you the distance when you are in focus. Now, as to elevation, once I have the focus, the wheel shows the number of clicks to that target that I must raise the turret . If you click, you do not need nor require mildots, but they can come in handy for wind hold-off or making that really close shot rather than click.

On my side wheel scope I always focus from far to near. That is I move the front side of the wheel down. If I go past focus, I rotate it back and slowly bring it into focus again. Whether you go from far to near as I do, or near to far as some others do, does not matter as much as always doing it the same way.

I usually focus on the braided reset wire and when I can see the individual strands, it is in focus. The edge of paint chips can also be used to focus on. When the edge gets very clear, you are in focus.

I get into position then find the target by pulling the reset cord, I then drop it... this shows me the wind.

I find the target in the scope at a low mag and zoom into it, then focus and see how far it is, with the scope I use just now I just use the mildots and don't click, (might give it a go, can't do much worse...). then get my breathing set and take the shot... normally miss... give a little curse and move on to the next one and repeat... Thanks for the replies guys. I have basically been doing what Keyrigger outlined (minus the range finding of course)
Thanks for the tip on focusing on the braided reset wire Mac, unfortunately that won't do me any good until next season when I can crank it up past 15X Laughing
