I am painting up keiths new armor.
The first pics are of the armor as he recieved them. They were started but as I got to looking at them they had a lot of paint layers to them.
Even under the silver there were layers of green and yellow. So i took the parts all the way down to the gelcoat.
I drilled out the holes on the AB piece just as the movie version was
after that I put a layer of primer on all the parts and layed the base coat of silver.
I will these parts sit for a couple of days and then throw a layer of highgloss clear over the silver. This promotes better paint adheasion to the silver. For some reason silver paint doesnt like other paints.

Yeah it was alot of work but in the long run it will be worth the extra effort. It's hard to make paint stick if you dont know what it is sticking to.

That is a lot of layers of paint! how many paint jobs were on that?
Your right, silver is not one of the freindlier paints to work with. I wonder why the holes werent' drilled out to begin with?
