This was an idea I threw at Wayne from the Baton Rouge Star Wars
action figure collection group known as the Redstick Rebellion

The bros over there were able to secure a room for a meet, display case and changing room for us for October 6th, 2007
The event will be celebrating 30 yrs of star wars action figures and collecting and I recommended that we also celebrate 30 yrs of Star Wars books as well
since it's a library and we want ALL kids to read right? :)
In one of the other posts Greycap added,
"They would really like us to display some SW stuff next summer to cooincide with their summer reading program which has a Star Wars theme: "Be a reading STAR!"
So that sounds like another possible troop for us also which I'll also take point on if there's any interest.

Event info ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Baton Rouge Jones Creek Library
Event is in Room #1 From 2pm to 4pm.
Room #2 is available for us to change and store our
stuff from Noon until 4pm.
After the event is over, meeting room (#1) can be used to change back to our regular clothes as room #1 will be used after that by another group.

Put me down as a "possible" for this one Walt.
I have to see if my work will give me off for that since I will not be working any other Saturday that month.
This could change if there is no event on the 19th..
I'm going to have to get a better job with all of the gas I am going to be using in October that is for sure.

If Dei and I can swing the other event we may just go early and attend this one also and make it a weekend trip. Anyone know of any decent hotels nearby?? Maybe we can head out there early Saturday morning and just stay the night for the other event the next day...so sense in coming home and heading back out to make it to both. We have been wanting to do a few events with you guys and then I got in my wreck, but on a good note with the wreck I GOT A NEW VAN!!!! So we are road trip ready (permitting finances and schedules and such) But these 2 events look doable for us!!! I cant wait!!!

Yes they have plent of Hotels around although you may want to get one in
New Orleans so you don't have to drive when you get up.
It's only abot 55 mins from BR to NO.
Can't wait to finally meet you two.

Update:
There will be Star Wars trivia for the kids and
maybe a duel with the kids if the Dark Anakin and
Revan are up to it.
Also they are asking for donations and I suggested
you guys might donate items such as
501st member cards, tattoos, action figures to give the kids
for a prize during the trivia.
I'm bringing a custom TD 5491 fig and a few other figs and some 501st posters to give away.

Ahh gottcha...I dunno why I was thinking this was in NO also (sleep deprivation can do werid things to you..LOL) But that would be great...go to this event and then drive on into NO that afternoon or night and grab us a hotel and be there for the next event...maybe we can get with a few of you guys and go do something that night...Like I said I will k now more this coming weekend about a sitter and I am sure we will manage this one!!
I have plenty of crayons and the activity books and a few temp tats I can bring too...not much else on that note but may swing by and grab a few figures or something from wally world!!
BTW do ya think it would be ok for me to do my sith cheerleaders outfit for this one? I want to at least be able to do something for one of the events and being that the other event will probably require "actual" movie characters, it wont be a good idea for me to do the whole sith cheerleader thing...would be cool if I could though..lol

SWEET my first official sith cheerleader apperance!!! I cant wait...now I am off to get me some black and red tennis shoes for it and redo my hair...and no it is no longer purple and black...I let the purple fade and redyed it and it will be red and black for these events..lol
