'Rancho Roycroft', the Forbes family place in Colorado, as highlighted in this summer's Style 1900, will be stripped of its contents and sold at Rago in October. What a coincidence/trend/game of one-upmanship, depending on how you look at it. Cool

Stripping has already taken place and everything is in New Jersey.

This one has some really rare furniture, but it is Roycroft furniture which isn't for everyone. Personally I find much of it too harsh or awkward. Curious with the rarity how much condition will effect the prices.

A lot of the forms although rare the collectors have already since the collector base is so small. The double door will probably fetch the highest price imo since it is the rarest form and the condition sounds good. At the time he was buying from Jordan Volpe and Michael Cary, there wree doing so much poor restoration on pieces it will be interesting to see the overall condition. Refinished Roycroft is even less attractive then when it has its original finish. The close up of the drop front is probably indicative of the condition of a lot of the pieces.

Well if some of this is from Volpe (and he does say on his stale website that he supplied Forbes) and if Rago knows what work was done to what (and in articles he does say that he knows Volpe did BS restoration), it will be interesting to see how condition is reported. Since Rago once worked with/for Volpe, some pieces might be coming full circle back to him.

On another note, is there any evidence or knowledge out there that the Roycroft Campus Corporation has been buying back things lost over the years?
