|
|
In January during the Wizard World planning meeting I spoke to many of you about a month long display opportunity. For some time now I have been talking to the librarian at my local library and she has been asking around for costumes to be displayed in the library in the locked cases. She is an avid SW and Aliens fanatic and when we met it instantly clicked I would like to get a list of who would like to donate canon props and costume parts for the month of December. This will need to be something you do not plan to wear during December. I have displayed models in this library for 2 years now and they always have a great response. The cases are locked and under video surveillance and there has never been any problem with anything being damaged or lost or having the cases opened.
Offered so far: Sandy’s Slave Leia, Keith Boba Fett, Gary’s TK grappling hook, my Tusken.
What the display could really use : (if you have something else to offer, please do)
Case1 Joint Ops : Could we get Rebel Legion and 501st items, propaganda, cards, patches, signed photos, mementos, etc. This is for both Legions.
Case 2: 501st Could we get Blasters, binders, Rank Badges, Code Cylinders, Imperial Officer hat & gloves, belt buckle, Thermal Detonator, Vader light saber (any movie), Palpatine Lightsaber, TK communicator (Luke hero on belt)
Case 3 Rebel Legion : Could we get Liea’s blaster from the Tantive IV , Rebel blasters, round thermal detonator, bowcaster/ chewie messenger bag , Jedi training remote, chance cubes, shick shaver communicator, Lu ke and or Han holster & blaster, X wing driver arm tools & gloves. Luke Saber, Yoda Saber, any other saber (realistic, not one of the toys, but a Hasbro saber with no blade would work. ) Padme amulet from Anakin, Padawan braid, any other Republic, Jedi , Rebellion-used items.
Thanks for your help, this is going to be a new opportunity for us!
PLEASE put a label or sticker on any item, prop or part that you offer up for this, to help me keep my sanity in who is offering what. I will start a spreadsheet of who is donating what for this display. I will arrange for pickup prior to the display and make sure things are kept safe until returned to you.
Items offered so far:
1: ROTJ Slave Leia IN HAND
2: Boba Fett IN HAND
3: Grappling hook
4: Tusken & Gaffi
5: Clone helmet
6:Vader helmet
7. TIE helmet IN HAND
8. Code Cylinders IN HAND
9. Yavin award medal
10: Vader Lighsaber (In hand)
11: Luke Lightsaber (In hand)
12: Yoda Lighsaber (in hand)

14: X wing pilot parts IN HAND

Hello there
I may have somethings to offer to the growing list. Give me a yell over the phone or an email about what you want.

Thanks Sandy, Thanks Paul, Thanks David!
David I may go with your mask, it is done and frankly lets face it, its a Godzilla mask. You dont get any more top of the line than that. Im going down this weekend to try to stuff some of my helmets in the front case. Which means I will have to take half of my models out of the front case (Im in week six of a 8 week model display :) ) to see if the bigger helmets will fit. I have Fett helemet on repair loan here and I can size up from that too..

I have three PDF files that I cant get to load. Grr.
the wall mount case is68x31x13
two of the flat displays are 56x26x9
the fourth front load case is 58x7x28.
currently we have 76 models on display in the cases, and the front case is not filled, it even has a three and a half foot submarine on the upper shelf that has plenty of room on either end.
Ill try to swing up there and get some pics to post, so you can see relative sizes.
edit=========
first post updated with photos.

I'll put up my Master Replicas Ep2 Clone helmet, my TIE pilot and my ROTJ Darth Vader reveal helmet, 2 original rank code cylinders and a Yavin Medal. I'll also get you some 501st items as well.

Gary do a me a huge favor--
the maximum depth of the big case is 13 inches deep. Is the Vader helmet larger than that in any direction? if so it will not fit. I REALLY wish these cases were a lot deeper but after almost ten years of displays across the country I havent found them much deeper than that.
I put my Delta Lima helmet in the case and it fit sideways , Im sure your Fang will fit fine.
I think we can put SL and BF in the front case and I have stuff to make racks out of, and put the in the middle. helmets in the middle.
