“Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination,” will open at the Lafayette Science Museum on Oct. 20th of this year. This is an official 501st Canon Event. We have been asked to be there for the opening ceremonies and VIP reception on Wednesday Oct. 20th beginning at 6pm. The Exhibit preview will follow the VIP reception from 7-11pm. The Grand Opening to the public will be on Thursday Oct 21st from 8pm to 12am.
This is the official sign up sheet for the VIP event. Please post if you are able to attend.

Wednesday, Oct. 20, 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm—the VIP Preview event at the Museum
Thursday, Oct. 21, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm—the first day the exhibit is open to the public

Let me verify Thursday's time as it may have changed. The 9-5 time just came from Ms. Henderson in an email. I will post once I get an answer.

Hmmm...I need to figure out how to make Wednesday work...
I'm at school until 3:30 that day, so I should be able to get to Lafayette in time (from Destrehan - would taking 90 be quicker than I-10? I'm thinking Baton Rouge traffic).
I will definitely need a room if those are still available.

I'm still trying to see if we can make it.
Reminder to all Rebel Legion members: Because this is a high profile event the Rebel Legion LMO needs to verify all RL costumes. New RL costumes need to be submitted at least one week in advance.
This is due to events that have happened in other places with sub-par, non-formal/non-canon costumes.

My girlfriend Erica and I can both troop Wed and Thur.
I'll be in my Royal Guard, Erica can wear her RL approved ANH Leia.
FYI, the first post lists Thurs as an evening troop...but the later clarification lists a morning troop. ????? Neither is a problem for us.
Also, is the event still planning on putting us up in hotels for at least Wed night?
