| Just for the record, Yvonne has 294.34 gold spare. She had very deliberate plans on what to spend it on later, so. |

Well, is the airship noticeably retaining any decent amount of magical lift, or should I jump out with the mattress? _________________

Please be more specific. It hasn't descended very much yet. If you feel like taking 50d6 falling damage, knock yourself out, though. _________________

Oh. I'll wait some more to judge the rate of descent, then. And I refuse to take 50d6 with the terminal velocity of a mattress. _________________

If you've been plummeting to the ground, I'd've said so. And emoted that the prowside walls have become the new floors. _________________

I do. Let's get the stuff away from the fire, and take stock of how far we can get on it before we need to forage, and compare this to the nearest likely city. _________________

Malazar has a base Fort save of +6 and is getting +4 from Alberich making camp. How is he getting results over 30? _________________

What. I intend to sleep.
| Quote: | | Unconscious: Knocked out and helpless. Unconsciousness can result from having current hit points between –1 and –9, or from nonlethal damage in excess of current hit points. |
| Quote: | | Helpless: A helpless character is paralyzed, held, bound, sleeping, unconscious, or otherwise completely at an opponent’s mercy. A helpless target is treated as having a Dexterity of 0 (–5 modifier). Melee attacks against a helpless target get a +4 bonus (equivalent to attacking a prone target). Ranged attacks gets no special bonus against helpless targets. Rogues can sneak attack helpless targets. |
Sleep and unconsciousness are different states. Also, while I don't have the book in front of me, IIRC the Draconic Aura says that it continues to function even while a Dragon Shaman can't take any actions. _________________

I'm ruling that such things require being able to take mental actions. Which you can't take while sleeping. I think what they meant by 'incapable of acting' was being paralyzed or something like that. _________________

I can take mental actions while sleeping. Lucid dreaming.
More seriously, since Dragon Shamans become immune to paralysis effects at 4th level, I don't think they meant that either. I found the book on scribd and it says:
| Quote: | An aura remains in effect until you use a free action to dismiss it or you activate another aura in its place.
[...]
Your aura is dismissed if you become unconscious or are slain, but otherwise remains in effect even if you are incapable of acting. | This seems to me that the intent, not only the RAW, is that the aura continues to be in effect while e.g. sleeping. _________________

They can become incapable of acting via ability damage and ability drain. And being pinned.

Yes, I know what the RAW is.

Then why couldn't they have said so? By the time they invented such auras (see paladin), they had ample time to correct it. _________________

But whatever. Your game, your rules. Although it sucks to only be cold resistant while awake. _________________

So, how many hours of cold resistance do you want to give the party?
I'll use your rules for sleep deprivation:
| Erik Mesoy wrote: | | Skipping up to 4 hours has no penalty. (Except for wizards, sorcerors and the like, of course. ) Skipping more than 4 hours leaves you fatigued. Skipping more than 12 hours leaves you exhausted. |

Three or four, depending on whether we're respectively setting three or two watches. Also, wake me if anyone looks like they're freezing to death, because I need as many people alive as possible. Sleep deprivation is preferable to fewer party members. _________________

Edited in something above. Otherwise, okay, I'll get on it. It looks like Yvonne and Alberich both want first watch, and Malazar will take last watch. _________________
