Very weird.

The briefcase says Dr. Stickley on it. I don't know why the seller would say that the guy is Jewish. The whole thing is just awful--bad taste and politically insulting.

Yes, the seller is a bit off the mark here.

That said, Elbert was known to be a critic and complainer, and often had these colorful 'cartoons' in his magazines. I think he's just taking a shot at quack doctors with this one. Does it actually say Stickley or is it Stickem, meaning stickem with a needle ?

It looks like Stickley to me. Both Gus and Elbert had inflated opinions of their own importance, but in this case I think Gus was the first to complain and criticize. He named Roycroft among those whom he believed were infringing on his self-appointed position as originator and sole proprieter of American Arts and Crafts (though he rejected that name). I think this was Elbert's reply, and I think he intended to poke fun at Gus's famous poor business management.
