You don't get this dropped in your lap every day. I was talking to a well
known Connecticut Match Director and was asking him if he and a few of
his fellow shooters would be able to make it up to the Baldwinsville Match.
He said that he most likely could not make it. I told him of the match last
year and how it almost didn't happen as there were not enough targets at
the venue and that I nearly didn't have enough to finish topping them up.
He said, I have a bunch of old targets that are never going to be used
again, so give me your address and you can have them. Today, I
unpacked a 31 pound box to find 12 fully functional targets with the
original After Hours Target mechanism and home made wooden faceplates
and large washers for the KZ reducers. Over the course of the next year
(or months depending on spare coin) I am going to replace the wood with
8 gauge steel, which should last a lifetime. The shapes will be maintaned
to keep the original flavour of the targets as they are here. For those that
are new to starting an FT club, they may be made available so that a
match can be started to be set up by the new hosts and as they get their
feet under them, they can eventually get their own. Hope you enjoy these,
I sure do.

Hey Keyrigger,
Let me know if you need any help re-building them...It would be great to learn how they are made! Perhaps I could also earn the right to borrow them |

I apreciate the offer to help with the targets, but I have nothing better to
do with my time these days. The targets will be made available to a group
within my driving range so that they can set up a partial course of fire
and learn the ropes. The rest of the targets for the day can come from
fellows like Mac, CJN, myself, EW, etc. to make up the 60 shot normal
course of fire. Unfortunately, the set will need to be used that day, then
packed up so that they can be put in the car.
I am not worried about painting them before they head back as it gives
me the opportunity to do what I like doing best. I am not sure what will
be the result of changing the faceplates to steel, but I will take one of the
largest ones to test first as if it works properly, the rest will too. I still
have one target left of the three I had for sale. If you remember the
squirrel from the display, that one is still available for 35 dollars. If you
don't remember it, here is the picture without the 3/4" reducer.

As much as I would like to buy a unique target like this, I have to save my pennies...
At this point, all I have to offer is my time, labor and enthusiasm. If I can help and learn at the same time, I am ready willing and able |
