Seems odd that in the Records and Aces section, there's no topic on aces. So I made it...
And I got my first ace today to file under the new aces section! Do they still count if you're the only witness?!
It was at Walrond Park on hole 1 from the white tee. If you've never been there, it's marked as 260 feet. The fairway is wide open, and goes for about 220 feet at a slight incline, and then at 220 there's a HUGE hill with the pin at the top. I'd say the hill adds 25-30 feet of altitude. So I threw my ESP Buzzz on a slight anny with hopes of it fading at just the right time, because if you miss the hill to the right, there's a huge dropoff. And did it ever fade at just the right time! This has been a good week for disc golf. _________________ "man, i'd go call my friends and family" |

an ace on hole 6 at PV is pretty sweet. that's not an easy hole, at least to get an ace on. _________________ "man, i'd go call my friends and family"

Check this out for funny...
When I first started playing Peaksview I played for about a month and was getting pretty much pars for everything by the course signs. I am very competitive with my younger brother so I was pretty much being a smart a$$ and bought him three discs just so I could beat up on him. We went out for his first round and he was doing pretty well. He hit a few pars and then we got to hole 15. It was late summer or early fall and all the foliage was still on the trees and you couldn't see the basket from the tee. I told him that it was a very short hole, very slight curving shot to the left. He steps up and lets a shot go right down the fairway. We hear a loud "clank" and I immediately say "Good job you hit the basket!!", not believing that he could ace anything his first day out. Well we get around the corner and there is his white Eagle sitting in the basket. Figures huh...
Oh well... It actually might have been that day or a round shortly thereafter when I told him that my first ace would be at hole 3 at Peaksview. I hit it for my first ace in my third month of playing. Took me four years to hit another one. In the last 6 months I have hit half a dozen aces at Peaksview, 3, 7, 9, 13, 15, and 16. Half witnessed, half not but I know I hit them...
Later all and see some of you guys at Vinces tomorrow,

| Just yesterday I was playing through with three other guys at Peaks View for a few rounds and hit an ace on 13, first ace in a while so that felt great. As well as getting basket on 12 and 14. It was an awesome round. I have also hit aces in the past on holes 3, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, and 15. |

Very ace friendly
I have 3,5,6,7,8,9,10,12,13,14,15,16. No tellin how many total, maybe 35?
I can say that I have hit every basket off the tee.
Meanwhile, I have ONE at Elk Creek.
One in Tennesee, Warriors Path.
And lots of baskets hit.
Daniel saw me skip ace 13 at Peaks View during a tournament, when he and I first started playing together. KP |

I am SOOOO due to get an ace.
I have not aced since 12/18/2004, the infamous yank-ace on hole #6 yellow at Timber Ridge, aside from a couple of tiki aces at the Grange. Plus, I have only 1 career ace at Peaks View (hole #15), although I have played no more than 25 rounds there in my life, but that was like 6 years ago. I do have 1 at the Golden Hills, too bad that hole does not even exist anymore (old #16 with the severe sloping green, in 2000). Add to that me nailing permanent hole #3 at Fishburn back in 1999 (playing by myself but witnesses by a nice lady walking her dog who told me "Nice shot") and there you have my 4 career aces. _________________ http://www.dgcoursereview.com/course.php?id=2523 |

well, if those witnesses count, then i had two young adults who looked like they were going to watch their son play baseball who wondered why this weird bearded guy playing this weird sport was making this weird yelling noise all by himself. they were probably also wondering why every person they had seen playing this weird sport had a beard. _________________ "man, i'd go call my friends and family" |
