The piston rifle I was going to shoot at the FT match on Saturday was shooting very well the day before the shoot.... During the sight in practice section something happened and the rifle sounded strange and shots were scattered like shot gun patterns..... The gun was cased and put away for later tear down ... Last night Don took the rifle apart and this is what we both saw... Not one break, but a break of the factory main spring at both ends....LOL

Wow...good break!
Is that the factory spring?
I have a collection of JM springs, and you are welcome to have one if you want to get it up and running quickly. I may have one to fit your factory guides quite well. Just let me know if you need one. _________________ Canadian Airgun Field Target Association (CAFTA)

That is indeed the factory spring.... Last week I had ordered the Tx200 Super Deluxe Survival Kit from James Maccari, now all that's left is for the mailman to deliver it....LOL
Thanks for the offer CJN... I had a spring on hand that fit the guilds nicely, but the gun is way under powered from normal specs... _________________ Shoot Safely, Shoot Often & Share Your Sport!

In the back of my head I thought I heard you say you ordered a kit from JM. That will likely work out really well of you.
What velocity are you after? From my experience, the guns shoot best around 12fpe (825 CP's/800 JSB's), or slightly less. _________________ Canadian Airgun Field Target Association (CAFTA)

I have that kit installed in my Pro Sport (basically the same inners as the TX). The ID of the spring in that kit is substantially tighter. If you run into problems I still have my factory spring that should work for you. You're welcome to it... |

According to Jim Maccarri, the specs are ......
New Arctic SG Mainspring. This spring was designed for the new TX200's with the .558-.560 OD guides ( latest model) The spring is .560 ID x 30 coils x 128 wire.
It will fit older UK guides and many Maccari Apex-Volcanix guides. It is wound in house from the finest wire and goes through 7 days of processing thereafter. Each is pre-set and ready to install on your guns guides. Kit buyers will have the option to buy spare springs in the future- consumer quantity only.
The original spring as best as I can measure is 0.525 I.D. with 0.128 wire. Overall difference is .035... Should be good to go!... _________________ Shoot Safely, Shoot Often & Share Your Sport!
