I am waiting on an email from him now about a place to change and store our stuff while at the con so we are not having to pretty much change out of our cars. And also about a table of possible...cost and whatnot so we know what this will entail..As I get more info from him I will post that here =)

I am unsure how big of a con this is, as this is the first ever I have heard of it. But I wanted to maybe try to make a bigger presence or presentation there....this may be a great recruitment opprotunity also!!

Ang Guest : Items	Posted: Wed Feb 14, 2007 10:43 am    Post subject:   Yeah I am thinking this is a fairly new Con too... Any ideas on how to help this go off with a bang?? If I had more time to rework some things I would say a mini Droid Hunt but that's a bit much for me to take on right now. I did inquire about the table as I mentioned in an earlier post. I also mentioned to Randy about the donations bit so I am hoping he gets back to me so we can maybe get that going to take up donation for one of the local charites here in LA!! If you guys have any certain charity you want to donate to let me know or if you have been in contact with any local charities that would be cool too...

Right now my hubby is checking on finger printing kits also thru work. Not sure if this will be something we can get together for babel con...but sometime for the near future.

It is a new convention - they had their first one last year at the city center in Port Allen. It was a pretty small convention - there were only about 20 - 30 people there while we were there. The Star Wars presence was lacking at best but this con has a lot of potential. It is encouraging though to see that it's moved from there to here (for me) in Baton Rouge - hopefully that means that it is expanding in nature. I am hoping to get in touch with them about the Red Stick Rebellion helping out with as well and it would be great if there was a 501st presence there! If there's any way I could help, let me know. Wayne

I have been talking with some friends from Texas as well as Arkansas and they are even interested in coming too!! I thought this was a new con since this is the first I have heard about, but being so close to home, we (family and a few freinds) as well as other garrison members locally should be able to make it!!! It's nice to see we have some sort of convention being held here locally!!! I am trying to come up with some ideas of things to do while we are there also...and I will post the ideas as I come up with them or get them figured out!!!

Could we bring and setup our float transformer con table there? Do some advertising and recruiting. Can we get an electrical outlet? I'm thinking for a laptop or DVD player to show some 501st DVDs and fan movies. I have some 501st cards, temp tats and other stuff to hand out. is anyone in contact with the director / top dawg / person running the show? I will contact him back and see what he says...I would like to know also so I know what the regulations and what not for the convention..

Let's hope since it's moved from Port Allen that it will be better this year. I remember hearing it on the radio but I had to work that day so I never made it to check it out. They did say there was no real Star Wars anything but that's about to change. MwaHahahahahahahaha
