Is anyone making plans to attend C4 in Los Angeles? I am planning on taking off a week and a half and driving (I know it's crazy long) but I always wanted to drive across the country. I believe El Paso, TX is about halfway I am working on a hotel but they are booking up fast.

I will be attending C4! I currently have 2 rooms reserved but as my travel party gets thinner it may be up for grabs.
Who all is going?
What costumes will you be taking?
How will you be getting your armor and weapons there?
I, myself, will be taking EP3 Obi Wan, EP2 Arc Trooper, EP3 Clone Commander. Still trying to figure out how to transport the helmets and weapons?

3 blocks from the convention. I should know in the next 60 days if i will be traveling solo or not. That would mean I would need to loose one of the 2 rooms I have reserved. I may also be interested in a road trip if I end up going solo if you anticipate some room.

Lauren and I have been talking about going, I'm hoping and playing it kewl.
I think we might drive out there as well, so thats another car for the carovan possably. I'll be taking my TK, TI, and officer. For hotel, we are looking into using our timeshare points.

Also, through priceline I got a room at the Westin B Hotel for 5 nights for $75 a night plus tax, saving up to $500. might be worth checking out.

We will be arriving Wednesday evening, Doug Edge will be join us for the road trip. We will be West bound and down, loaded up and truckin. Keith is planning some Star Wars graphics for his new truck we will be rolling in.
I bought a new camera. I will try to upload pics each day for you all of our daily adventures. Josh is talking about participating in the stormtrooper olympics. We know he can bring home the GOLD!

LA places...TONS!!! 
i like to meet up...but ive got preplanned meets already. i might be able to meet-up during the con.
for those that never been to LA...the LA convention center...theres hardly anything "nearby"...you will have to walk...n i mean "walk". to let you know...there is a FOOD COURT inside the center...but its limited n pricey. so i say bring a cooler n leave in your car.
TRAFFIC
RUSH HOUR in LA is 6am to 10am n then again 2pm to 6pm during the weekday. on the memorial day weekend...it will be all day...here n there...so give yourself time if you arent "near" the convention center. the LA motto...give yourself 1hour for anything.
oh yea...if you plan to go to the BEACH during your stay...to let you know...everyone n mean everyone in LA will be going to the beach during memorial day weekend...its about 10-20 degrees cooler than the rest of LA...n its the beach!!! :) anyway...traffic will be nutz!!! ppl head to the beach early westbound on HWY 10...so there will be traffic from 9am to 1pm...n then in the late afternoon from 5pm to 8pm...ppl will be heading eastbound on HWY 10...oh yea the water will be very very cold...even though it will be like 87 on shore...the waters will be like 50...its the pacific...its always cold.
ooops...the DOWNTOWN LA traffic...will HWY 101, 110 n 10 all connect in DOWNTOWN LA...so its be literally NUTZ!!! so get there early...traffic really gets bad on saturday n sunday during the "middle" of the day...on the weekday...traffic will be terrible in the morning n late afternoon.
PARKING
from previous experience...its going to be nutz...so get there early if you want to park inside the convention center, which will cost $8-10...for me, im parking outside...there are parking lots surrounding the center...it will cost a bit more...like $10-$30...but you can find some $10 parking lots so look off figueroa st.
HOTELS
the majority of the hotels are like 3 - 7 "CITY" blocks...n i mean "CITY" blocks away from the center. the only hotel near the LA convention center is the HOLIDAY INN which is somewhat across the street.
...most stuff you will find NEARBY will be on FIGUEROA AVE
EATS
there are no fast food or grocery stores near by at all...save a SHELL gas station like 4 blocks away.
- THE ORIGINAL PANTRY (famous LA locale) n DENNYS are 2 blocks away
- BROADWAY STREET (9 city blocks) there are BURGER KING, MCDONALDS, CARLS JR, SUBWAY, PIZZA HUT...but again its 9 blocks away
- WELLS FARGO CENTER (4 blocks away) has MORTONS STEAKHOUSE, CALIFORNIA PIZZA KITCKEN n small eateries.
...there are some EXPENSIVE n FANCY eats but they are like 5-8 blocks away off FIGUEROA AV
...but DOWNTOWN LA has tons of places to eat n have fun...but its a WALK...i mean quite "literally" a walk. CHINATOWN n LITTLE TOKYO n BROADWAY are best choice for local stuff "near the LA convention center
NOW...for stuff not near the LA convention center then you have:
HOLLYWOOD
...tooooooooooons to do. but thats about a 10 minute drive off HWY 101...but then 10 minutes on a "GOOD" DAY. 40 mins during RUSH HOUR n a bad day.
SANTA MONICA/VENICE BEACH
...thats about 15 mins on HWY 10 from the downtown LA...but again on a good day...since its memorial day weekend...talk about 60 mins during rush hour n in the mornings on sat, sun n mon.
SUNSET BLVD
...thats about 30 mins from downtown LA...like 15 mins from hollywood off SUNSET...just drive WEST (cause there are hwys near by...so youll have to deal street traffic
BEVERLY HILLS
...thats about 40 mins from downtown LA but off SUNSET too (again no hwys nearby)
SAFETY
...now downtown LA has gotten better over the years...but DONT...n mean DONT be walking about downtown LA at night if you arent on FIGUEROA...if the dont say FIGUEROA then leave...many parts of downtown LA are bad at nite n you will see why...also you will see...dont be surprised...tons of homeless ppl everywhere...n i mean everywhere. to let you know...LA has a big big big police force everywhere now...so you will see police officers here n there n everywhere from downtown LA to hollywood to sunset to beverly hills.
oh yea...n dont run the stop lights...many intersections have cameras...n bring tons of quarters...cause the meters use only quarters...n the parking n*z*s will n most certainly give you a parking tix which will cost about $40 each. on yea...on SUNDAYS...n only SUNDAYS...to let you know, the parking meters are FREE...again FREE everywhere in LA...n i mean EVERYWHERE...so you can some money there.
one more thing...there are NO...well not NO...i mean are some here n there...but you will hardly see a LEFT TURN LIGHT SIGNAL...again LEFT TURN SIGNAL...so watch yourself...theres 3-car rule...but i wont get into it...just watch yourself.
