Same here.
This is excellent news and I hope they follow through with it especially since I don't go to Dragon Con.
It gives me another excuse to go to Orlando and Disney too. |
When does school start in Metarie, Earl??? Mid Aug? see the problem.............

Their school starts the following Thursday so this would be a nice little "last trip before school".

Yea, I heard CV might be in Orlando in AUGUST. UGH...thats going to be tight for me. SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON is July. Then CV in August...following w/ DRAGON*CON in Sept. I can manage it financially, but I will have to watch it closely. For course, I hope there arent any hurricanes too. :(
But San Diego Comic-Con will be like $800 to include hotel and plane cost...hotels aren't cheap around Downtown San Diego.
CV will be cheaper since there are tons of "cheap" hotels around Orlando...so that will be like $300, hotel and gas
Dragon*Con will be like $500, hotel and gas.
WOW...so I am looking at close to $2000 for 3 months worth of cons...YIKES! :(

I imagine that C5 will hurt alot of CON goers next summer if it is late summer vs early May like it has been in years past. Having it in Aug does not leave alot of personal recovery time/costume repair time /rebuild the checking account time.
I will bet dollars to donuts it will have a major effect on both DC and CC attendance wise.
currently
Comic con is 23-25July which is also the Huntsville SW exhibit opening
then you have 2 open weekends then 12-15Aug for C5 two more free weekends then DC 3-6Sept
WOW!!!! I bow to the trooper that makes all 3 or even 1 of these plus C4 !!!

Unfortunatly, forced to choose, I'm going to DragonCon. Ang and I like to do too many other things there and you can't beat the nightly parties.

I had such an awesome time at CIII I hated that I hate to miss CIV so I can't miss CV. Besides, Empire is my favortie... and I could deal with missing D*Con another year if I had to choose...Celebrations are just a whole different experience.
BUT, August would be really rough. By the sounds of it, we'll be forced to move late spring/early summer.

That is bad for me as school in Livingston Parish starts that Friday!
June or July would be better.

A non confirmed head's up ::::
I heard from a very good sorce (a star wars celeb)
that C5 will probably not be in Orlando.
I can't say who or anything like that but if it's true,
that will suck because I really wanted it to be in Florida
so I could visit my family while there, that was my home before I came here.

Was your source Rebel or Imperial? Might be some mis-information.
Iam wish you, I really hope it is in Orlando.
