Stupid Question here: What happens if you challenge someone and then you lose your tag and end up with a lower one? Is the challenge off?

If Jon changes tags before the challange , and his new tag is outside the challange criteria then the challange is null and void.

I would've thought that I wouldn't be allowed to put my tag in play if I had challenged somebody.

You can still put it in play but if you loose it then the challenge may be off,,that would be up to you as to whether to play it or not,,

Per club rules if you were to be playing in a group where anyone is currently participating in a tag match, your proclivity towards defending or not defending does not matter. You are required to put your tag in play irregardless of any current challenges or prior match agreements. I would assume this rule supersedes any other rules, as it is is clear you do not have a choice whether or not to submit your tag for play if others wish to play for tags.

Ergo, if you submit a challenge and the other person loses their tag prior to being alerted of the challenge (from the current precedent it seems to be the responsibility of the challenger [GET IT?] to notify the recipient of the challenge that they have been challenged to make sure they do not relinquish their tag prior to satisfying the challenge) or you lose your tag (it is NOT up to your proclivity whether or not to play if anyone else in the group is playing for tags as previously decreed), then the challenge is null and void.

I hereby submit a request for my satisfaction in that most noble of arenas, let us have a CHALLENGE! That's right Whorley, I am drawing a line in the sand. You pick the course, I will be there. I believe you have my tag, sir.

Well, KP beat me for my tag and then defended it last week. He beat me on modified Big Branch front nine with some good golf. Then he graciously offered to defend it with a game of "50" (a nice putting game.) Long story short, he needed to hit two for two from behind my trailer, under a tree branch and twenty paces away. He nailed both of them. It was the equivalent of hitting a 3/4 court basketball jumpshot at the buzzer to win by one. Good times, KP!

Henceforth, I challenge you! Hopefully you will accept at Big Branch on sunday!
