| I was able to pickup a 1991 Innova Aviar disc with the famous chains stamp in Raleigh this weekend. I can't believe it was in the used bin there and was in terrific condition. |

| my favorite molds are always changing it seems like. However, I have always had a strong affection for a whippet. I love to overhand them and its a great medium to long range option in my bag. I carry 2 star and occasionally carry my old 150 class DX. |

| Thats what I heard, but I think the Surge is a bit flippier. I tried one once but I'm not sure the weight of it. I want something that wont flip but will hold a line nicely like the wraith does. Little fade. Maybe I should just stick with the wraith. |

| Bosses are nice but I like them to hold a line a little longer than they do. They seem to fade pretty fast. I think I want something that I can't flip over but has very little fade. Never threw a Teerex. |

| Maybe you should try a Katana. It should flip with slight fade at the end. |

Most large rimmed drivers are variably flippy at high speeds and very overstable at low speeds. Finding the disc you want doesn't necessarily mean the "latest and greatest" molds. Have you tried a Teebird or Eagle? Thrown flat, they fly straight and land predictably.
It's just an idea....I read all the suggestions you were getting, and they all seem to be discs that are long flying and less predicatable.
Just thought of something else -- the Starfire is the younger brother to the Wraith. Similar flight, less fade.
Let us know what you end up with! |

| Thanks. I think I'm just gonna have to talk to people that own these different discs so I can give them a test throw without having to buy each one. I have an eagle and a teebird that I don't like. I'll have to try some others. I'll let you know which I end up with. I might have to get a katana for my wide open distance shots. I liked the way it flip and did a nice S curve for extra distance. |

| Jon, I've got a couple starfires you can throw and check out. I also have teebirds and agree with Dan on their flight, one of the best discs in the game. |

I'll third Dan's comments on the Teebird/Eagle...
The question is, what about their flight don't you like about them, and what platic do you have them in? I carry between 3 and 5 Teebirds that cover everything in the fairway driver range except the few shots covered by my firebird...
As for faster than the Teebird/Eagle, more stable than the Surge... Orc or Crush are slower, but more reliable than a Wraith... Also, I believe Z Surges are more stable than the ESP... (They definitely are with Avengers... which are really the discraft starfire...) |

Surges are fine discs, and I throw the heck out of them. I like them in ESP. They are less stable than a Wraith when new. Some of the Z Surges that I have thrown are very close in stability to a Wraith. Also, as a note, Avengers fill an interesting gap for me as a utility driver. They seem to be more stable than a Star Starfire, but maybe a little less LSS than a Champion Starfire. Very nice discs in ESP and Z. I haven't thrown one, but I seem to see people use Eagle Xs and Starfires for a lot of shots that I throw with an Avenger.
