This is a pic of the breechblock of a dual spring clip Mark I belonging to "Troubledshooter" over on the AVA.
The single spring clip guns had the clip located on the RHS of the breech block. The double spring clip simply added another identical clip to the LHS as well. The double clip version solved the problems encountered with the single spring unit, but created a whole new round of issues, which led to the top catch being introduced. |

Thanks Scruffie.
That is a beautifully preserved example of a Senior - even the rear end plug hasn't been buggered.
I can see that it does suffer from the very common malady of a missing barrel pivot keeper screw though. I have a couple Webleys with the same problem  . |

And here I was hoping you might have a few spares just laying around   Any idea of where could obtain or maybe even the size? BA, bsf, Bsw

| Great photo of it "broke" Scruffie, thanks for that...i am also assuming that the loading procedure also charges it. If so can it be done only once, or more if needed? I like the older style of it, and they look weighty too from the pics Thanks again to ALL for this "education." |

I wish I had a few spares.
John Knibbs Airgunspares had them, but IIRC, they were some ridiculous price - worked out to something like $15 to $20 CDN each - plus shipping. Substantially more than I was willing to pay.

That thread size may be a proprietary size - it is not SAE, metric, or BA. Those are the only ones that I was able to check it against. One of these days, I'll get ambitious and get out the Machinery Handbook and a set of mics.....LOL. |

With all the Webleys using this design, the loading procedure that I prefer to follow is thus:
1) Unlatch the barrel, and insert a pellet into the bore.
2) As I grasp the barrel to c**k the gun, I use my small finger to cover the loading port to keep the pellet from falling out.
3) Grasp the barrel with the left hand, and draw it up and forward in one smooth action, until the sear clicks into engagement. (re: your question - no, it is not a multi-pump). On these guns, the piston is drawn forward, and on firing, the piston travels rearward - giving what many folks describe as a firearm type recoil.
4) Return the barrel to battery, making sure that the latch has caught properly.
5) The gun is ready to fire.
If I remember, I'll bring one of these old Webleys along to one of the FT shoots and let you try it. Of course, once you have done that, you will want one....  . |

Excellent info again supermatic.- hope you don't mind if i continue to use SUPE in further posts... just less one-finger typing while i add a pint to the other arm for excercise. 
As per WANTING one, i got the opportunity to actually hold DFG's pre-war model "IN_HAND" today when i happened by E.W's and shook George's hand for the first time, as he was not only visitin' but BROUGHT IT, in HOLSTER too; K L !!!!!! One of em must have viewed your pellet- before priming post -interesting; and I figured it was pneumatic, but DFG informed me it's a springer...still Kool..luv the old SKOOL..still no clue what i can get together for a fun pistol shoot yet with time and cash the usual barriers..Hmmmmm.
After a great chat they seemed to be on their way to a gun show when i left, so i hope one of em posts on that soon too.
This forum is getting to be like a continued Edification Program for some of Us....Thanks All  |

No problem You could also just use "Len" - thats even less typing .
What I will usually do is use the first letter of each syllable of the username - ie:
PK for PowderKeg.
KR for KeyRigger.
EW for Exotic Woody.
SM for Suprmatic.
Etc, etc. |

As to offering to bring a Webley for a trial shot, PLEASE DO! I know it would be appreciated by many, I just wanna try & be first in line.. |
