A conversion was in order, after having shot the QB79 on CO2 at the last 2 matches, it was time to try something different... I ordered a 22CI 3000PSI bottle from the folks at Wevo paintball and topped it off with a Guerrilla Myth regulator.. The regulator is preset from the factory at 750PSI, that's around normal CO2 working pressures. Unlike CO2, there won't be as much concern with the varying outdoor temperatures playing tricks on velocity... After approximately 80 consistent shots the pressure drop on the regulator read just over 1500PSI from the starting pressure of 2500PSI...
Standard deviation from shot to shot is +/- 5fps.... Now to do some accuracy testing...
Here's a pic of the new HPA bottle on the rifle...

That looks great. I can see why you had to do the stock modifications to clear the regulator bits. How well does this setup install on the block? In otherwords, does this bottle and regulator rotate straight on, or is there a bit of a wobble like was seen on the two other Co2 bottles you had installed on that rifle before? Talk to you shortly. _________________ Keyrigger

It fits better on the block and with a bit more clearance between the bottle and the barrel .... I had to literally chop 4" off from the front of the stock to accommodate the new bottle.... Easiest way to get that bottle onto the rifle was to remove the barrel first or risk damaging the gauge and fill nipple, because there's not enough room to clear the barrel when threading the bottle into position on the rifle... Good news is the bottle can be filled without having to take it on/off from the air gun... _________________ Shoot Safely, Shoot Often & Share Your Sport!

80 consistant shots of +-5. That should take care of any accuracy deviations from the pressure variation aspect. How many pumps to get back up to 2500. Shots per pump? _________________ "A Few Of My Guns"

You could be the Poster Boy for FT. You know? Showing the country that Target shooting can give you an Aerobic workout as well. One needs to be fit to be a good shooter. I have a couple of tanks left over from my Diving days. So I know that they are not light either, when packing around. _________________ "A Few Of My Guns"

Bet I shed 10lbs filling that bottle in the extreme heat yesterday....LOL
Things are going to get interesting when other air gunners around the country start shooting and reporting back from their FT shooting experiences.... I'm looking forward to those days.... _________________ Shoot Safely, Shoot Often & Share Your Sport!

You're on the right track if you're getting that kind of consistency with the speed. It should translate to the same kind of consistency with accuracy.
Did it change the weight or balance of the gun? _________________ frankengun@hotmail.com |

I'll take some picture of the damaged parts, but the Guerrilla Myth regulator failed to maintain the 750PSI low side pressure and caused a complete bottle load of pressure through to charge the QB tube with 2600PSI.... Needless to say that was not something that was expected... The result was a compete shearing of the 2 screws that holds the bulk adapter to the main tube ... part of the gun hit the sealing and the bottle ended up in front of my feet spinning like a pin wheel till all the gas was exhausted ... No one was seriously injured, but it was quite a shock to say the least....
Back to CO2 for that shooter.... _________________ Shoot Safely, Shoot Often & Share Your Sport!
