NYVES

Nyves sank back into the shadows and incospicuously as he could, as these nobles looked peculiar, and peculiar usually meant dangerous. He didn't like that smell coming off them, either - it was possible that their commander was a necromancer of some variety. He looked around for a way to evade their sight, continuing towards his goal.

Unfortunately for Liandri, her attempts at stealth were thwarted as she stepped on some loose stone and the pebbles alerted the patrol to her presence. She thought she could hear the orders being shouted in Undercommon as she and Taklin ran into the closest alleyway.

~Nyves~
The half-elf's keen hearing picked up the sound of feet on loose gravel and he peered around the corner to see the group of soldiers stopping near a somewhat narrow alleyway between a half-collapsed stalagmite and an empty cafe. The leader had slipped off her riding lizard and appeared to be addressing her soldiers.

The weretiger could hear the sharp sound of knives being drawn from sheaths and feet moving against the cobbles. He turned the corner to glimpse the dark elven women moving in his general direction, their weapons drawn while what was obviously a spellcaster started to divine the area.

~Madrean~
Madrean wasn't particularly familiar with the network of criss-crossing lanes that seemed to buttress most of the Slave Quarters but he knew that many of the hidden crooks and ledges were home to some of the more secretive locals. In fact, from the most recent reports, over five thousand of the city's non-drow inhabitants make their home under the stalagmite pillars and wooden huts of the district. Those slaves are often the most dangerous, feared even by the House Guards. It was in response to string of violent attacks from those slaves that the Temple of Lolth started forming purgation squads, elite soldiers who only serve the will of the Spider Queen. It was a purgation squad that Madrean saw when he arrived at a main junction. They were moving towards the tiger man who he had met back in Andor's Ruin.

~Kalzior~
The ghost observed eight of the drow soldiers approaching the tiger-armoured man and one of the women, a spellcaster by her light mithril armour and the collection of wands strung around her hips, was scanning the area. Two other soldiers had somehow sneaked behind the man and they were barely forty feet away, advancing with their blades drawn.

Kalzior looked about urgently to see if there was any cover which he could sneak behind nearby that he could use to access the roofs or higher ledges at the least (by flying) without being seen in transit.

It was probably too late for getting out of this situation unseen. Clearly, they have sensed him, and could probably run him down easily. For all its protection and lightness, Nyves' equipment and armour tended to slow him down some and he was reluctant to part with it. Particularly since he knew spellcasters were dangerous to anyone in their line of sight, not only within an arm's reach. Still, it would be bad if they saw him before they were close, and he hugged the nearest wall, trying to stay in the shadows for as long as he could, at the same time grasping for his axe and willing it into battleworthy proportions. His breathing quickened, taking in more air and more smells, making the world around him seem more alive than outside the violent confines of mortal combat.

Swift action: Enlarging the axe to greataxe size.

Nyves prepared for combat and he figured that the drow soldiers would take some time to reach him. The soldiers were approaching, silently, but his keen senses allowed him plenty of warning before they struck. However, something simply didn't feel right. The scent of incense and weapon polish filled his nostrils and he suddenly felt a sharp jab of pain as two invisible blades scored on his muscled torso (13 Damage, 2 Acid Damage, Fort save from Nyves)

Competent and invisible, Nyves assessed. It was time to get serious. Letting out a low rumble, he let the animalistic rage building up flow from his thoughts into reality. His form wavered, and began rapidly growing to fill his oversized full plate. Black and orange fur sprang up instantly, covering his entire body. In mere moments, he stood as a hybrid between humanoid and tiger, and slid his magical eyepatch over his right eye, improving his ability to face the invisible threat.

Standard action: Change shape. Parentheses on character sheet denote changes.
Swift action: Activate Corsair's Eyepatch, granting the benefits of Blind-Fight for 1 minute.

"I dinnae see 'em," Growled Taklin, digging his feet into the gravel behind a ramshackle pile of crates that may have once been a home to a begger. "But me senses ain't feel right. They're around 'tha." The dwarf raised his shield and weapon, pacing the alley as he waited for Liandri to catch her breath. They had fled through the spikes and stalagmites of the area until they were sure that they had reached the Mage's District. The dim faerie lights from the towers shone onto the alley and Liandri tried to sense any disturbances that would reveal her enemy.

Kalzior

Kalzior moved forward somewhat into view from above, noting what appears to be a caster or priest of some kind. He chose not to say anything as he gestured in a grabbing motion from his position as his mind reached out trying to instigate a force with his incorporeality. His outline began to waver and shift almost imperceptibly and the caster's outline began to do likewise.

Move Action: Moving into position via flight.
Standard Action: Using Supernatural Ability (Telekinesis) in Combat Maneuver form to attempt to establish a Grapple.

Touch Attack: 1d20 + 19 = 13 + 19 = 32
Grapple Check: 1d20 + 19 = 20 + 19 = 39
Caster required to make a Grapple check to oppose the grapple
Subdual damage if Grapple succeeds: 1d3+10 = 2 + 10 = 12

Telekinesis duration: Concentration (16 rounds maximum)

Current Granted Maneuvers: Crusader's Strike & Battle Leader's Charge

The dark elven mage was suddenly thrown back as Kalzior used his supernatural abilities to lift her off her feet and engaged her in an aerial grapple. She attempted to evoke an incantantion to release her from the ghost's telekinetic grip by faltered as the spell pinned her. Unfazed by ther comrade's plight, the remaining drow marched towards Nyves, just as he felt another graze from one of his invisible assailants. (16 Damage, fort save). He turned around just to see a soldier slashing him across his face, drawing a gash along his cheeks (8 Damage)

Skar had been traversing the darker side of the Slave District when the hulk of man in striped tiger plates drew his attention. He had followed him at a wary distance when battle broke out and the lizardman saw him doing battle against a group of drow soldiers clad in red and purple mail.

Nyves growled angrily, summoning yet more reserves of strength. Since he could see a few of his foes, his wrath would be directed firstly against them, and only then towards the invisible ones - in the meantime, the magical eyepatch should help in dealing with them. Roaring, he swung his greataxe at the nearest visible foe.

"Fortitude": (14)+18 = 32.
Free: Fly into a Rage. +4 to Str and Con, +2 to Will saves, -2 to AC.
Swift: Activate Corsair's Eyepatch, over right eye. Gain the benefits of the Blind-Fight feat for 1 minute.
"Greataxe 1": (15)+22 = 37.
"Damage": (1+3+1)+18 = 23.
"Greataxe 2": (17)+17 = 34.
"Damage": (4+3+5)+18 = 30.

Nyves slammed the greataxe into the leg of the closest soldier and she dropped to the ground, clutching her severed stump. Her face teary with pain, she looked up to see Nyves' great frame smashing his enlarged weapon into her...

Liandri failed to notice as the dark shape crept behind Taklin and it was only when the dwarf let out a wild yell that she turned around to see the lizard-riding leader of the Templars. The Champion had her longsword pointed at Taklin's weapons and in a single movement, she had disarmed the dwarf and had him crushed under her lizard mount. Ignoring Taklin's protests, she hopped off her lizard. Liandri couldn't see the Champion's face under that steel mask but she had a disconcerting feeling as the warrior sheathed her longsword and faced her.

The caster was still caught in Kalzior's mental grapple but she managed to clutch onto her unholy symbol of Lolth and evoked it. Kalzior had expected a wave of negative energy to wash over him, loosening his will but instead, he noticed the weapons of the warriors gaining a light blue hue. "On the rooftop!" She screamed in Undercommon, at the soldiers below her.

The Champion watched as Taklin struggled under the riding lizard's scaled bulk and she helpfully kicked aside the shield that the dwarf was reaching for. Her gloved hands reached to her mask and she pulled it off, revealing amber eyes and a thin nose which Liandri hadn't seen in years. Tellista. Liandri still remembered the woman from her early days in the church of Elistraee. Tellista, formerlly of the House of Nulivaudi, Sword Dancer of Dark Maiden. The priestess could recall the warrior's graceful movements, the sweeping cuts and stabs she had made with her longsword in the dances she had once devoted to the goddess. She didn't know why Tellista left the order but the thought that she now served a crueller mistress pained her.

"Hello Liandri. It's been a while hasn't it?"

Skar didn't like the Drow. At all. And if he could kill a few and maybe make a friend out of what looked to be quite a beast then he was down for a figth. The lizard fired two arrows at the caster, who seemed to be hampered somehow.

Attack1: 1d20+17=7+17=24
Attack2: 1d20+14=11+14=26
Damage1: 2d8+2d6+8= 6+8+1+3+8=26
Damage2: 2d8+2d6+8=2+4+4+4+8=22

Both arrows failed to pierce the drow woman's thick mail and they fell useless to the ground. Nyves felt the movements in the air around him as the invisible blades slashed but they merely glanced off his thick hide.
