For me, it started to get good starting near the end of season 1 (2005). It has gotten better progressively till season 7.5 for me. Season 2 has a Different Doctor. Each Doctor has a different personality (sort of). So if you can force yourself to watch the first season all the way through lol

                                      Posted: Sun May 12, 2013 12:02 pm

Ascension ended up losing me. I was never really behind the plot because it sounded like a slog through pointless minutia about him killing things right after the event with his family. What little I saw and knew wasn't nearly as impactful as Chains of Olympus, where he is on a mission to take his family away from Elysium. (Pretty big spoiler to follow if you care about it.) In CoO, the moment when you give everything -- your powers and eventually most of your life -- to be with your daughter in Elysium is so powerful, and it's only compounded by the fact that you can never exist with her again until your death, and you're then forced to shun her as she sobs her heart out. This leads directly into God of War 1, which begins with him trying to commit suicide by jumping off the cliffs. It's simply incredible that a game like God of War could be so emotionally crushing. (Okay, spoiler done!)

Anywho, Infinite was just fantastic. One of those games that I lost sleep and spent all night playing just to finish. I was a bit miffed by the ending, but I've kind of been assuaged by little facts I've learned since then. Apart from story, it's just a blast to play and Elizabeth is the perfect AI partner.

Got Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. Funny, but definitely Far Cry 3. Think this one, along with Ascension, is just going to end up as another example of why I shouldn't pick up games I was on the fence about a week or so before release.

Let's see... Picked up a bunch of tower defense games -- Sanctum 2 and Anomaly 2 -- that'll be out on the 15th. On the 21st is the PC port/remake of RE Revelations, which should be good if it retains anything at all from the 3DS version. And on the 28th is FUSE, which I was a little disappointed by when it changed from Overstrike. However, the demo is great fun and it'll serve me better if I get the game when the community is still around to take advantage of the 4-player co-op.

I'm pretty sure Iron Man 3 was my favorite of the series. I loved all the Avengers references and the idea of Tony Stark confronting a different kind of enemy and challenges was just more enjoyable. Harkened back to Iron Man 1, which I'd need to watch again to see if I like it more.

Saw The Great Gatsby, which I was unimpressed with at the start. That is until they got to the plot behind it all -- essentially when Leo first shows up -- and it got progressively better.

Looking forward to Star Trek, The Wolverine (Wolverine in Japan is just a great idea, and it looks so interesting) and the new Thor movie. I suppose it won't be until the latter two (likely just Thor) that we get to see some details on the next Captain America movie, which was my favorite of the Avengers lead-ins.

I haven't been reading Lovecraft as so much as I have been listening to HP Podcraft where they break down and decipher his work. It's a good listen.
I got a book at Christmas called Wool that I still haven't cracked open. It too is about a post apocalyptic world.

I also have been rereading The Walking Dead and just started Y The Last Man.

I ordered the book House of Leaves yesterday so I am eagerly awaiting that. From what I read it is supposed to be very unsettling to read. I shall let you know.

Also picked up the kindle book Wool by Hugh Howey, this is the description that got me, "This is the story of mankind clawing for survival, of mankind on the edge. The world outside has grown unkind, the view of it limited, talk of it forbidden. But there are always those who hope, who dream. These are the dangerous people, the residents who infect others with their optimism. Their punishment is simple. They are given the very thing they profess to want: They are allowed outside.".

Nah, that's what we have started. She either eats what we eat or doesn't.

She recently came to me ecstatic that she was watching a fairly new movie on her computer. I thought it was odd that she was watching it on the computer and asked her why and she just shrugged. I assumed it was the novelty of watching something on a pc. So I let it slide and went about my business. Her dad gets home and asks when I bought her the movie, and I say that I thought it was a Christmas gift from her mom. So we both go into her room and ask where she got the movie. She explains that she typed the name in the computer and it took her to a site where she could watch it. Needless to say we blocked the site and gave her a speech. The computer has since crashed now so I will commence with internet training her at a later date. She can't even turn on the PC, so I didn't think that she could do a search. Lesson learned.
